The Archework Journey: How It All Began

Archeworks.org started with two friends: Ethan Mitchell and Liam Patel, with a shared love for home design, and a lot of late-night brainstorming. 

It all began when they teamed up to tackle a DIY project: transforming a dull, outdated living room into a space that felt warm and personal. 

Armed with thrift store finds, leftover paint, and a few tools, they spent an entire weekend creating something they were both proud of and discovered just how fun and rewarding it was to design a space with their own hands.

That one project turned into a routine. Every weekend, they’d take on a new challenge: building furniture, repurposing old decor, or experimenting with new ideas. 

Along the way, they realized two things: design didn’t have to be expensive, and anyone could do it with a bit of guidance and inspiration.

Soon, their friends and family were asking for advice and tips. Inspired by how much joy and confidence these projects brought, they decided to create a space where they could share their ideas, experiments, and lessons with others.

Trained at Portland Community College in Construction Technology, Ethan believes everyone can improve their home with the right tools and guidance. His step-by-step tutorials make even complex projects approachable, helping readers turn their ideas into reality.

Liam Patel (Senior Editor & DIY Craftsman)
