2016-2017 PARTNER: THE NATIONAL PUBLIC HOUSING MUSEUM
Archeworks is partnering with the National Public Housing Museum (NPHM) to explore the complex social conditions of public housing and urban disinvestment. Working with public housing residents and using the future site of the NPHM, the Jane Addams homes, both as spatial laboratory and source material, the Archeworks team will create a diverse range of projects (i.e. critical writing, editorial projects, interactive installations, artwork, or architectural constructs) that challenge the dominant narrative of public housing. The project will contribute to NPHM’s collections and exhibitions, and will be showcased in the Museum’s preview phase opening during the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial.
